Shortly before midnight, Sherriff Chris Dickinson said the man had been found and that the infant was OK.
Mickey James West, 20, of Mantachie, according to police, was fighting with his girlfriend in Fulton around 7 p.m. and drove away with their 7-month-old daughter. According to media reports, West did not have legal rights to leave with the child.
According to Dickinson, law enforcement officials had followed a lead that West might be in the Peaceful Valley area, in the southwest part of the county.
