Burnes is charged with the robbery of the BP Store located at 2841 Cliff Gookin on May 2.
The other charges stem from residential burglaries in the Haven Acres Community during the past couple of months. The detectives are continuing their investigation and believe Burnes is responsible for several more burglaries reported in this community.
The Tupelo Police Department has felony arrest warrants for Burnes’ accomplice, Carlos Ellis. The warrants for Ellis include Armed Robbery and Burglary. Anyone with information to the location of Ellis is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi (1-800-773-TIPS) or the Tupelo Police Department (841-6491). Judge Ricky Thompson set Burnes bond at $500,000.00.
