The Quality Education Foundation has kicked off a fundraising campaign to sell specialty license plates with the Amory Panther logo and black and gold colors on them.
QEF had initiated this project more than a year ago, but had to get a legislative bill passed in order to sell this particular specialty car tag. The bill, House Bill 1482, was approved in the 2010 legislative session and signed into law by the governor.
Other organizations have similar specialty plates that are issued through the State Tax Commission, but this is the first such specialty car tag for the Amory School District.
The deadline to order the first batch of specialty tags is Sept. 15.
