Circuit clerks' offices will be open until noon today for absentee voting for Tuesday's Republican congressional primary.

Monday at 5 p.m. will be the deadline for receipt of mailed absentee ballots, according to the secretary of state's office.

On the 1st District ballot Tuesday will be Angela McGlowan, Alan Nunnelee and Henry Ross.

If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff between the top two finishers will be held June 22.

The GOP nominee will face incumbent Democrat Travis Childers and several independent and minor-party candidates.
