FULTON – ICC Lady Indian All-Star forward Destini Shannon has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Rust College next season.

“Destini will make an excellent addition to Coach Troy Howell’s squad,” said ICC women’s head basketball coach Nanci Gray. “She is a proven competitor that has been instrumental in the success of our program here at ICC for the past three years.”

Shannon was a member of the 2008 State Championship team, but suffered a torn ACL during the off season that required surgery and a season of rehab.

“She approached that set back with true grit and determination which allowed her to return this season and become a starting post for us,” said Gray.

The Tupelo native averaged six points and five rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the floor and 61% from the line to earn MACJC All-Star honors after her final season with the Lady Indians basketball program.
