Today will be all-star Saturday for many high school baseball and basketball players from Northeast Mississippi.

The Crossroads Diamond Club will host the 36th annual Coach D.M. Howie Mississippi High School All-Star Baseball Games at Trustmark Park in Pearl.

The Class 4A/5A/6A game, which features five players from Northeast Mississippi, will be played at 1 p.m. The Class 1A/2A/3A game, featuring 12 players from the Daily Journal’s coverage area, will begin at 6 p.m.

On the hardwood of Itawamba Community College’s Davis Event Center, the Robertson’s Sportswear Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association’s All-Star Games will be played. Before the Class 1A/2A girls game tips off at 1 p.m., the 2010 Hall of Fame class will be honored.

The Class 1A/2A boys game will follow at 2:15 and the Class 3A/4A/5A/6A girls game is scheduled to tip at 4 p.m. The boys 3A/4A/5A/6A game will be the finale and tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m.
