TUPELO - It's getting close to street fiesta time for Tupelo Community Theatre.

The seventh "Music, Monet and Margaritas" event will be 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Broadway Street in front of The Lyric Theatre.

"It has turned into the late-spring social event of the year," said Tom Booth, TCT executive director.

Let's break down the three elements of "Music, Monet and Margaritas" in order. Jeff Houin and The Jam Band will provide the tunes for the sixth time.

"We keep bringing them back because everybody just loves the fact that Jeff and his group play great dance music," Booth said.

For the Monet element, there will be a silent art auction featuring work by regional artists.

And Margaritas will be available, as will beer, wine, soft drinks and water. Your $20 ticket includes the first drink. Also, food will be provided by Outback Steakhouse.

"This is now free for our Directors, Producers and Executive Producer donors," Booth said. "It's part of their season ticket package as a thank you."

Like any other fiesta, the goal of the event is for people to have a good time. But this also is a fundraiser for the Lyric Krewe.

"The money will help support our educational programs," Booth said. "We spend as much as $12,000 to bring visiting artists into the schools."

Everyone's invited to enjoy a night on Broadway Street on Saturday.

"Have fun," Booth said, "and help fund the kids."
