n The Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts will present two types of workshops this summer:

* Intensive Dance Workshops.

* Triple Threat Musical Theater Workshops.

For dance only, classes will be the week of June 14 for third grade; and the weeks of July 5th and 12 for fourth grade.

For Triple Threat, 4-year-olds to first-grade students will meet the week of June 21; second to third grade will meet the week of June 19; and 16-year-olds and up will meet July 20-24.

The costs for dancing only are $175/one week and $300/two weeks. For Triple Threat, the cost is $125.

Miss ICC schedules

free trunk show

n Miss Itawamba Community College 2010 Laken Hood of Blue Springs will present her trunk show on June 30.

The event will be at 7 p.m. in ICC's Student Services Building on the Fulton Campus. She'll be in the middle of preparation for the Miss Mississippi Scholarship Pageant. The public is invited to attend.

Museum will showcase

work by Mississippians

n "Southern Expressions: Works from the Mississippi Museum of Art" will be on display at Amory Regional Museum until Aug. 1.

The exhibit includes photographs, drawings and paintings created by more than a dozen Mississippi artists over the past 40 years. The exhibit was organized by the Mississippi Museum of Art in partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Artists include Marshall Bouldin, Jane Rule Burdine, William Dunlap, Glennray Tutor, Bebe Wolf and Wyatt Waters.

Southside Gallery

will host free reception

n Southside Gallery will host a free reception for its Summer Group Exhibition from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The exhibit features paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photographs and works on paper by local and regional artists.

Artists featured in the exhibit include Jeffrey Allen, Jere Allen, Ariel Baron-Robbins, Charlie Buckley, William Dunlap, Stephanie Eggleston Harrover, Allan Innman, Robert Malone, John Robinette, Mary Sexton, Paula Temple, Glennray Tutor, Carlyle Wolfe, Bonnie Renfroe, Fritz Fulgham and Wendy Olson.

GREENWOOD

Casting call announced

for film of 'The Help'

n An open casting call has been announced for DreamWorks Studios' production of "The Help."

There's a need for men and woman of all ages to serve as non-speaking background actors and extras. No experience is necessary.

The casting call will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leflore County Civic Center, 200 Highway 7 South, Greenwood.

You must bring a recent snapshot that's no larger than 4-inches by 6-inches and a pen. You will not be considered without a photo, which will not be returned.

Filming of Mississippi author Kathryn Stockett's best-selling novel, "The Help," will begin in mid-July in and around Greenwood.
