MEMPHIS - Ramon Barreto's brother will be back in a federal courtroom Wednesday after he was indicted again last week.

Details of the indictment are sealed, but his hearing will focus on whether his $10,000 bond will be revoked so that the government can keep him in jail.

Ramon and Janet Barreto of Union County are wanted in the 2008 death of their 2-year-old adopted daughter. The couple fled and their whereabouts are unknown.

Jose Barreto-Ortiz, Ramon's brother, was arrested recently in Memphis on a charge that he illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico.

Friday, he appeared before a federal magistrate and was read new charges from a superseding indictment.

His June 9 bond was stayed and he remains in jail until a decision is made about whether to revoke his bond.

Authorities say they are hoping Barreto-Ortiz will tell them where his brother and sister-in-law are.
