Melson stayed in district with a pair of signings on Monday, June 28 as the former Northeast tennis player picked up a duo from Corinth High School.
Benjamin Nhek and Brandon Gardner both signed national letters of intent in the media room on the Northeast campus Monday morning as Melson continued to fill out his recruiting class.
Nhek and Gardner teamed together for a runner-up spot in the Mississippi High School Activities Association's (MHSAA) Class 3A state championship boy's doubles event at the State Tennis Championships in 2010.
Gardner and Nhek had an easy go through the first two rounds of the state tennis championships knocking off Adam Grant/Ryan MacKay (Mississippi School for Math and Science) and St. Patrick's Alexander Rizk and Phillip Rizk by identical 6-1, 6-4 decisions but the duo's season came to an end in the Class 3A championship match against St. Andrew's Aubrey Flowers and Patrick McKee
While at Corinth High School, both Nhek and Gardner were part of the soccer program and Gardner also ran cross country for the Warriors.
During the 2009 season, the duo helped Corinth High School win the Class 3A State Championship in tennis.
