Miranda Andrews finds herself between a pillow and a cloud, and she's not complaining at all.
The 28-year-old Ecru resident won the 2010 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Fairpark on Sunday.
Now, she has a couple of weeks to decide whether to take the home valued at more than $300,000, or choose the $150,000 cash option.
"It's a neat sort of problem to have," Andrews said during a Tuesday morning tour of the home.
"It's a good dilemma," added Jessami Jacobson, who oversaw the Dream Home contest for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"It's a nice reason to keep myself up at night, trying to decide," Andrews said.
The daughter of Donald and Betty Andrews of Ecru, she works as a stewardess-hostess for a private yacht owner. In her downtime at work, she scans sweepstakes opportunities on the Internet.
"I was going to the HGTV site every day and signing up for their Dream Home," she said, "and I remembered the St. Jude Dream Home."
Andrews was one of 4,335 to buy a $100 chance at winning the home at 155 Midway Drive.
The 2,759-square-foot residence has four bedrooms and three baths. It features custom cabinetry, stamped concrete flooring, an airjet tub in the master bath and a Paula Dean-style kitchen with granite countertops.
"I'm a little overwhelmed," Andrews said. "I can definitely see all of my shoes in the closet."
She was camping in North Carolina in the Smoky Mountains when the winner was announced. Church friends got hold of her parents, then Andrews got a call from her mom.
"Within a few hours," Andrews said, "people started writing on my Facebook page."
She reached Tupelo on Monday night, and visited her house.
"I met the next door neighbors," she said. "My neighbors were waiting for me when I got here this morning, too."
On two occasions, Andrews has won concert tickets from radio stations, but she couldn't remember any other big wins. She plans to keep filling out sweepstakes entries, and maybe there's still an HGTV Dream Home in her future.
"But this is the only house I've ever won," she said, "so far."
