BATON ROUGE, La. — Former LSU golfer Alexis Rather has returned to LSU to rejoin the women's golf program as an assistant coach.

Women's golf coach Karen Bahnsen says Rather joins the LSU staff after two years as an assistant coach on the Ole Miss women's golf staff.

The native of Tupelo, was a four-year letter winner at LSU, appeared in two NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships and was a four-time National Golf Coaches Association scholar-athlete.

“It was a difficult decision for her because she loves Oxford and loves the University of Mississippi, but it’s kind of special when you alma mater knocks on your door saying we want you back,” said ICC head golf coach and Alexis’ father Coach David Rather.
