The Commercial Dispatch reports that 53-year-old Sherrill Culpepper was arraigned Friday in Lowndes County Circuit Court. She voluntarily turned herself in after learning she was wanted by the attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Culpepper was released on a $5,000 bond by Circuit Judge Lee Howard, who set her trial date for Nov. 15.
If convicted, the attorney general's office says Culpepper faces up to 20 years in prison.
It was not immediately known whether Culpepper has an attorney.
