Luis Alberto Naranjo, 36, is charged with aggravated assault in connection with a Booneville shooting Friday night, WTVA reports.

The Friday night shooting took place in downtown Booneville and did not affect the city’s fall festival this weekend.

According to Police Chief Steve Bingham, the shooting was not fatal. One person was taken to the hospital and another was arrested and was in the Prentiss County jail Saturday.

The shooting reportedly happened in the parking lot of the water and gas department.

Investigators told WTVA Naranjo shot Bradley Cain on Court Street Friday night. WTVA reported Cain is currently recovering in a Memphis hospital.

Bingham and other Booneville Police officials did not release any information to the NEMS Daily Journal Monday.
