Coach Brown has 17 years of public school teaching experience. He most recently taught and coached at Northwest Rankin High School. He spent 16 years at Clinton High School. He served in a variety of areas at Clinton High School, including head football coach, athletic directory, defensive coordinator and head powerlifting coach. Coach Brown lead the Clinton Arrows to 6 consecutive playoff appearances within his 7 years as head coach. His overall record was 54-31.
Coach Brown also served as a World History teacher at both Clinton High School and Northwest Rankin. In Clinton, he was awarded the Sallie Mae First Year Teacher Award in 1997. He was named the Jackson Metro Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year in 2004. He also served as an assistant principal during his tenure at Clinton High School.
Coach Brown is married to Robin M. Brown and they have 2 children, Alice, 11 and Jack, 7.
