TUPELO - A Guntown man is charged with arson after calling 911 to report he set a house on fire in the Alpine community.

Joshua Pate, 20, of Guntown, is being held at the Lee County Adult Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said the house was unoccupied and no one was hurt. The fire caused minimal damage.

Pate was released from the state penitentiary two weeks ago and the Mississippi Department of Corrections has placed a hold on him.
