Jessi Hayles earned the award in women’s basketball, while
Channing Sanders was named pitcher of week in baseball.
Hayles, a senior from Pontotoc, averaged 20.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game last week. Hayles also had a pair of 25-point games.
For the week, Hayles shot 49 percent (23-47) from the field and 52 percent (11-21) from threepoint range.
Sanders, a junior from Ackerman, threw the first no-hitter in school history and struck out nine against Tougaloo last Saturday.
He is the first BMC baseball player to earn the award.
