Thorpe Award winner Johnthan Banks and two Mississippi State teammates have been invited to attend the NFL Scouting Combine, Feb. 23-26 in Indianapolis.
Banks, the former East Webster standout who’s widely projected as a first-round draft pick, will be joined at the combine by fellow cornerback Darius Slay and defensive tackle Josh Boyd.
Defending national champion Alabama will have 10 players at the combine, as will Florida, but it’s LSU with the most invited players out of the SEC, with 13, followed by Georgia with 11.
Also: South Carolina 7, Arkansas 6, Texas A&M 6, Tennessee 5, Auburn 3, Missouri 3, Kentucky 1, Vanderbilt 1.
