TUPELO – A community forum on the option to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act will be held Friday at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo.

“Medicaid Expansion: What’s the Best Rx for MS?” will focus on a frank discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of Medicaid expansion in Mississippi.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon in Classroom No. 5 in the arena’s meeting rooms. The event is free and open to the public.

Speakers include family medicine physician Dr. Edward Hill, North Mississippi Health Services community hospital vice president Tim Moore and Signe Shackleford, policy analyst for the Mississippi Health Policy Center.

An estimated 310,000 Mississippians would be eligible for health care under the program.
