“We hated we couldn’t play it on Wednesday,” said Collier. “The guys were anxious to get back on the field and play in front of our home crowd, but due to all the rain we got over the weekend the field wasn’t in any kind of shape to play on.”
The Indians (0-2, 0-0 MACJC North) dropped a pair of 2-1 decisions to Calhoun Community College to open the season this past Saturday in Decatur, Alabama.
“Hopefully the guys saw that you can’t just show up and win on this level,” Collier said about the opening-season sweep. “We’ve got to swing the bats a lot better than we did against Calhoun on Thursday.”
The first game of Thursday’s doubleheader is schedule for nine innings and the final game of the day will be a seven inning contest.
