They were part of the Appalachian Higher Education Network's annual bus tour, a three-day trip to schools in Alabama and Mississippi with a spotlight on college access programs.
Participants were from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.
Corinth Superintendent Lee Childress was among those who addressed the group. Childress discussed changes in the district's curriculum and the implementation of the "Common Core" system that places a heavy emphasis on reading.
