Clifford Gray Ryan was indicted Dec. 17 and the document was unsealed Tuesday when he appeared before Magistrate Judge David A. Sanders.
His arraignment is set for Jan. 11. Ryan remains jailed until then.
Ryan is accused of possessing images of child pornography shipped across state and foreign commerce.
If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fine.
