The Alcorn County Wildlife Committee is presenting the event for the 28th year today, with supper beginning at 6 p.m. Doors open at 4:45 p.m. with registration starting at 5 p.m.
As many people as possible are encouraged to bring a wildlife dish so there will be plenty of variety and flavors for everyone to sample, said event coordinator Sandy Mitchell.
Admission is free for one person with a wildlife dish, and others pay $10 for adults and $5 for youths under age 12. Ages 5 and younger are free.
Categories of dishes include: antlered (deer, elk, moose); land critter (rabbit, bear, opossum, raccoon); water critter (beaver, fish, turtle, alligator); feathered (quail, duck, dove, goose, pheasant); desserts (muscadine cobbler, blackberry pie, etc.); hunting club (all local clubs asked to compete against each other with large quantity dishes); and chili or stew (any species).
Door prizes, raffles, agricultural agency and other exhibitors are all part of this popular event.
