NETTLETON - Charlotte Dickerson Raper, 76, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after an extended illness. She was born on June 8, 1935, in Lee County to Floyd and Annie Coggin Dickerson. A lifelong resident of Nettleton, she was a retired seamstress and a member of Temple Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes and her rabbits.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Bill Monaghan officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Conn of Nettleton; her son, Richard Raper of Corinth; one sister, Betty Rhudy (Leon) of Nettleton; one brother, Tony Dickerson of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Jon Conn and Lindsay Conn (fiancampé, Sidney Pitts); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Raper; her parents; one sister, Nellie Culver; and three brothers, Wiley, Junior and Owen Dickerson.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Pitts, Brian Lindsey, Mikie Culver, Bruce Partridge, Jason Culver and Dwayne Culver.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Duran Elam
TUPELO - Grady Duran Elam, 64, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Homeplace in Saltillo after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Corinth to Grady Elam and Willard Essary Purvis Elam. He graduated from Corinth High School in 1965 and in 1971 graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in general business. He married Dianne Gann, and they made Tupelo their home for the past 38 years. He worked in consumer finance industry for many years. An avid MSU fan and alumni, he enjoyed football, basketball and baseball and gardening. He was an active member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life service will be at noon Thursday in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Bert Harper officiating and Bro. Michael Taber assisting. Private burial will follow in Henry Cemetery at Corinth.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Elam of Tupelo; one daughter, Tonya Elam Watts (Brian) of Clarksville, Tenn.; one grandson, Luke Watts; sister-in-law, Kathy Fuqua (Jerry); three nieces, Kyra Cossey (Jay), Kim Campbell (Brad) and Kelley Richardson (Chris); nephew, Brad Helms of Tupelo; cousins, Mike Taber (Sherry), Gary Taber, Dale Taber (Kari) and Marsha Bennett (Erwin).
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Elam Helms; and niece, Jennifer Helms.
Pallbearer will be Connie Brown, Jimmy Sullivan, Joe Norman, Mark Ozbirn, Mike Bynes and Danny Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be West Jackson Street Baptist Church Sunday School, Men of Faith, and Marion Stanford.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday.

TUPELO - Florene Beard Gillentine, 85, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at her residence after a brief illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born June 21, 1926, to Woodie and Charlie Price Green. She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Weather permitting, graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Andrews Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Hatfield officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons, Gary Green of Mooreville and Larry Beard (Marie) of Stockbridge, Ga.; six grandchildren, Sammy Green (Tina) of Saltillo, Terry Green of Mooreville, Gene Beard of Stockbridge, Ga., Brad Beard (Chrysti) of McDonough, Ga., Jennifer Pugh (Adam) of Griffin, Ga., and Ashleigh Cagle (Allen) of Jackson, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Tom, Fred, Harold, Jim and Rubel Green; a sister, Barbara Ann Stanley; her first husband, Delbert Beard; and her second husband, Hubert Gillentine.
Pallbearers will be Terry Green, Sammy Green, Kirk Green, Gene Beard, Brad Beard and Stone McAteer. Paul Wayne Green will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FULTON - Adonice Marrie Nabors, 76, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 18, 1935, to Chester A. and Bettie M. Whitedside Rogers in Lee County. She was a member of Friendship CME Church, where she was president of the usher board. She was a member of Heroines of Jericho Queen Shumpert Court 308. She was retired from Super Sagless.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Friendship CME Church in Fulton with the Rev. Patrick Head officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew amp& Sons Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of arrangement.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Denise Rogers of Fulton; two sons, Frederick (Anita) Nabors and Kevin (Aretha) Nabors, both of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Sherita (Troy) Sage, Yanme Rogers, Zederick Nabors, Cederick Nabors, Charkayla French and Bryant Nabors; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Taylor Sage; one sister, Theressia McGaughy; one brother, Chester A. ABERDEEN - Freddie Henry Grubbs, 90, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was born Dec. 22, 1921, to William Earl Grubbs and Laverda Vaughn Grubbs in Pontotoc County. He lived in Aberdeen since 1949. He attended TTI Trade School. He retired from Conoco, where he worked with service transportation. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 11 a.m. at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Randy Spencer officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Pace Grubbs of Aberdeen, whom he married Sept. 17, 1955; one son, Jeff Grubbs (LeeAndra) of West Point; one granddaughter, Tanner Grubbs; one sister, Loretta Bowman of Muskegon, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger Grubbs; one brother, Carl Grubbs and one sister, Oneita Grubbs.
Pallbearers will be Buzzy Cullum, Tobby Turner, Frank Bender, Michael Red, Brent Coleman and Jerry Smothers.
