Ilene Smith

IUKA - Ilene Smith, 90, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at her residence. She was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother to everyone she met and enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. John Stockton officiating. Internment is at Sardis Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by one son, Wes Smith of Iuka; two daughters, Ruby Crider (Dennis) of Iuka and Sue Burton (Frank) of Stockton, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Shoney Smith; one sister, Louise Barnes White of Iuka; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Smith; her son, Wayne Smith; her daughter, Wilma Lou Smith; her parents, Wesley and Sally Parsons; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Visitation is 5 to 9 today at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. The body will lay in repose from 9:30 until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sardis Cemetery Fund.

Gladys Adams

GREENWOOD SPRINGS - Gladys Brewer Adams, 88, of Greenwood Springs, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Medical Center in Amory.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Salter Cemetery. Bro. Danny Millican and Bro. Stanley Blaylock will be officiating.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1923, in Monroe County, to Rad and Minnie Lou Polk Brewer. She graduated from Greenwood Springs School. She was a member of Living Waters Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by daughter, Martha (Jimmy) Tucker of Greenwood Springs; grandchildren, Brent (Tammie) Tucker and Gina (Nick) McKay; great-grandchildren, Mindy (Kirk) Walters, Justin (Ashley) McKay, Tyler Tucker, Angelica McKay and Brody Tucker; one great-great-grandchild, Jacob Rylan McKay, brother, Bobby (Linda) Brewer of Detroit, Ala.; and sister, Sally Whitaker of Amory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rad and Minnie Lou Brewer, husband, Elmer Harold Adams; brothers, William (Bill) Brewer and Billie Joe Brewer; and sister, Lillie Mae Northington.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today.

CORINTH - Gertrude S. "Trudy" Reid, 84, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Service is at 2 p.m. today at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Internment is at The Mormon Cemetery in Booneville.

Visitation is at 11 a.m. until service time today at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Robert Bowen

WEST POINT - Robert Dale Bowen died Friday, March 30, 2012, at his home in West Point. He was born January 7, 1958, to Robert and Jean Bowen in Farmington. He was a member of CrossPoint Church in Starkville.

A celebration service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Pastors Scott Cappleman and Paul Matthews will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Aberdeen. Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Bowen of West Point; his daughter, Jana Bowen Thornton (Michael) of Columbus; his son, Bobby Bowen of West Point; his mother, Jean Bowen of Aberdeen; his sister, Kathy Jordan (Drew) of Nashville, Tenn.; his brother, Greg Bowen (Cheryl) of Starkville; his father in law and mother in law, Denton and Barbara Roberts of Aberdeen; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father and by his brother, Hal Bowen.

Pallbearers to serve will be John Bales, Honorable Kenny Burns, Dunlap Catledge, Kyle Chandler, Bill Colloredo, JD Easter, Dr. Pete Edwards, JC Evans, Dr. Rick Evans, Tommy Floyd, Jim Helveston, Pete Hodo, Sonny Jameson, Richard Justice, Foster Kennedy, Walter Lann, Bob Lee, Bob Marshall, Keith Mooney, Rodney Mortimer, Tommy Prince, Ronnie Roundtree, Mitch Scott, Jackie Spencer and Kenny Tisdale.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen.

RED BAY, Ala. - Lawrence Wayne Edwards, 71, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Red Bay, Ala. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, Ala., are in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home. The body will lie in repose at the church from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fairy Morris

OKOLONA - Fairy O. Carr Morris, 89, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 26, 1922, in Chickasaw County to Jimmy Carter and Mary Martin Carter. She retired from nursing in 1997. She was employed by NMMC and Shearer Richardson Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Okolona.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy D. Carr and Dr. Roy McHenry officiating. She will be buried at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Okolona. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Jimmy D. Carr (Elaine) on Pontotoc; one brother, J. T. Carter of Okolona; one granddaughter, Tomarrah Smith (Jimmy); one grandson, Jimmy Carr (Angie); four great-granddaughters, Sha Smith, Reece Smith, Addison Smith and Alexi Carr; one great-grandson, Logan Carr.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Alonzo Carr; her second husband, Hosie B. Morris; her parents; one sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carr, Billy Harrison, Benny Martin, Neil Cruse, Tracy Clayton and Carl Ritchey.

Russell White

MONTPELIER - Joe Russell White, 63, died Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born January 17, 1949, in West Point to Joe Thomas White and Katholene Russell White. He was retired from Bryan Foods and was employed at Nabors Home Center.

Services are at 10 a.m. today at Palestine United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Rev. Eddie Brock and Rev. Sammy McMillen will officiate. Burial will follow at Palestine United Methodist Church Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Deb White of Montpelier; his mother, Katholene "City" Russell White of Montpelier; his son, Chad White (Lisa) of Senatobia; his grandson, Taylor White of Senatobia; his granddaughter, Lauren White of Senatobia; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, L.E. "Bully" and Joyce Whitt of Woodland, and Danny and Linda Lantrip of Woodland.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Thomas White.

Pallbearers are Taylor White, Bill Sims, Frank Thomas, Jim Murray, Tige Lantrip, Joey Ferguson, Tracy Whitt, Bill Peel and Danny Lantrip.

Honorary pallbearers are Bully Whitt, Jack Russell, Rodney Russell and H.M. Thompson.

Visitation is at 9 a.m. until service time today at Palestine United Methodist Church.

ARTESIA - Betty Burnett, 62, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Fields Funeral Home of Okolona.

Bobby Brown

PONTOTOC - Bobby Joe "B.B." Brown, 73, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was a retired carpenter and was known as "B.B." among his carpenter friends.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Buchanan Baptist Church with Bro. David Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be at Buchanan Cemetery. Tutor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by son, Bobby Len Brown (Jaime); stepdaughter, Reta Williams (friend, Ray McCarver) of Pontotoc; grandson, Adam Mooneyhan (Amy) of Pontotoc; granddaughters, Tosha Anderson (Phillip) of Cabot, Ark., Ashley Brown and Shelby Brown, both of Pontotoc; great-granddaughters, Caelyn and Paisley Anderson of Cabot, Ark.; sisters, Betty Sue Berry, Martha Wilson, Robbie Jane McFallin, all of Collinwood, Tenn., and Bonnie Neil Stults of South Bend, Ind.; and Benny Paul Brown of South Bend, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wray Brown; great-grandson, Luke Scott; parents, Bill and Elsie Brown; brothers, Rodney and Jerry Brown; and sister, Billy Ruth Staggs.

Pallbearers are James Wray, Jackie Wray, Josh Wray, Keith House, Steven Willard and Hunter House.

Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. today and 10 until service time Tuesday, both at the church.

Bradley Hall

WHEELER - Bradley Allen Hall, 30, died Saturday, March 31,2012, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was a member of Wheeler Baptist Church and a graduate of Wheeler High School.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Kesler Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his father, David Hall of Guntown; mother, Tracy Chisholm of Saltillo; one step-sister, Alexis Horton of Baldwyn; one half brother, Casey Bullock of Blackland; grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Chisholm

of Canton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Virginia Hall.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today.
