ABERDEEN - Peggy Freeman Cantrell, 70, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on May 25, 1941, in Louise, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Mary Ellen Gray Ellis. She attended school in Duncan before moving to Missouri. On Dec. 15, 1958, she married Harold Wayne Freeman in Bertrand, Mo. She enjoyed fishing, yardwork, her dog, Buster, watching hummingbirds and her grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Wren Cemetery with the Rev. Harrison Upshaw officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Thursday. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Freeman Brown (Roger) and Carla Camire Harper (Gary) of Wren; grandchildren, Kevin Camire of Mooreville, and Emily Lee and Ethan Brown of Wren; sisters, Dot Jennings of Wren and Faye Lewis of Bertrand, Mo.; brothers, Bobby Ellis (Lucy) of Braidwood, Ill., Richard Ellis (Joyce) of New Lenox, Ill., Homer Ellis (Madiline) of Morris, Ill., John Ellis (Joyce) of Missouri and Bill Ellis (Jean) of Metropolis, Ill.; special friends, Jearl Nelson of Aberdeen and Glenda McCullar of Amory; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Wayne Freeman and Felix Cantrell; her infant son, Terry Wayne Freeman; and a sister, Betty Morris.
Pallbearers will be Jim Godsey, Calvin Lee, Lawrence Lewis, Ricky Brown, Carl Godsey and Randall Leverett.

ABERDEEN - Billie Jean Owings Hawkins, 70, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Nov. 17, 1941, in Monroe County to Jim Mayfield Owings and Mary Catherine Howell Owings. She was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. She was a pharmacy technician with Fred's Pharmacy in Aberdeen and a member of the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Howell Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Grant Hawkins of Aberdeen; one daughter, Terri Lynn London (Jay) of Tupelo; one son, Ronnie Owings (Lisa) of Athens; one brother, Bobby Owings (Jo Ann) of Athens and four grandchildren, Lance Owings, Hunter Owings, Taylor Owings and Ella Cate London.

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Jimmy Ray Davis, 70, formerly of Booneville, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Midlothian, Va., after a long illness. He attended New Site High School and worked in the furniture manufacturing industry for over 30 years. He was a member of South Prentiss Baptist Church and served in the Booneville National Guard.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the memorial garden of The Brandermill Church. A memorial service in Mississippi is being planned for this summer. Woody Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

GOLDEN - Hazel Cleveland Jr., 81, died Monday, April 2, 2012. He was born on Feb. 23, 1931, to Jerry Anderson and Beatrice Rogers Cleveland in Itawamba County. He was a member of the Saucer Creek Church of Christ. He was a lifelong sportsman. He was a corporal in the Army, stationed in Germany. He was retired from Mueller Brass.
