MOOREVILLE - William Melvin "Bill" Hefner, 72, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Tulin, Mo., native, he was born Aug. 2, 1939, to Henry and Medrith Webb Hefner. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. For the past 15 years, he and his wife lived in Mooreville. He worked eight years for Walmart in sporting goods. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a member of United in Christ Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Harvey Coplin officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Cemetery in Becker.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Worthy Hefner of Mooreville; two children, Lou Ellen Hefner of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Roger Hefner, serving in Afghanistan; three stepchildren, June Smith of Tupelo, Amy Lamb of Blue Mountain and Billy Renfro of Mooreville; one granddaughter, Ashley Hefner of Kentucky; two grandsons, Jacob Jones and Johnathan Smith of Mooreville; one sister, Mary Lou Weeks of Campbell, Mo.; one half sister, Anna Lou Lott of Fairdealing, Mo.; one brother, Clyde Hefner of Brosley, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his half brother, Buel Webb.
Pallbearers will be Billy Renfro, Jacob Jones, Johnathan Smith, Ann Williams, June Smith, Bro. Phil Benton, Darrell Cooper and Jermaine Gathings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ABERDEEN - Charlotte Ann George-Lee, 70, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 6, 1941, to William Theodore George and Lotah Maude Harris George in Calhoun County. She lived most of her life in Monroe County and graduated from Aberdeen High School. She was a member of Aberdeen First Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Roy McHenry officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Renee Lee-Chappell (John) of Pontotoc; two sons, David Kelly Lee (Gaby) of Columbia, S.C., and Richard Wilson Lee (Monica) of Conway, Ark.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Price George and Otto Thomas George.
Pallbearers will be David Lee, Richard Lee, Joshua Chappell, John Chappell, Landon George and Sinoa Tusieseina.

PITTSBORO - Clarence Mayrone "Roni" Walls, 53, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. A native of Pontotoc County, he was born Sept. 30, 1958, to Earnest Hood Walls and Effie Criddle Walls. He was a handyman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Southern Funeral Chapel of Houston with Bro. Carl Morris officiating. Burial will be in Redland Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
Survivors include three sisters, Phyllis Talamo of Vardaman, Kara Hiott amp& Keith of Irvington, Ala., and Linda McKee of Ohio; three brothers: Earnest W. Walls of Pittsboro, Michael Walls of Kenner, La., and Larry Walls of Pontotoc; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and one brother, Carlos Dean Walls.
Pallbearers will be Ernie Walls, Randy Jones, Jesse Walls, Stephen Couvillon, Alvin John "Boo" Sons III, and Ronnie Rogers. Shawn Walls, who is serving in Afghanistan, will be an honorary pallbearer.

RED BAY, Ala. - Elois Stidham Overton, 89, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a native of Alabama and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Red Bay.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in Hackleburg, Ala. Deaton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one daughter, Sherrie Tackett of Red Bay; one son, Kent Overton (Laura) of Michigan; six grandchildren, Ryan Tackett (Desirae Ivy), Jamie Overton (Stephanie), Kent Overton (Melissa), Rebecca Payne, Tammie Kaminski (Lee) and Christie Smith (John); 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardie Overton; her parents, Marvin and Callie Lawler Stidham; a son, Jerry L. Overton; and a granddaughter, Darcie Dahoud.

BELMONT - Jimmy R. "Wildman" Wells, 68, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at his residence. He was a native of Belmont and a truck driver for 40 years. He served in the National Guard.

Survivors are his wife, Judy C. Wells of Belmont; three daughters, Tammy C. Six (Donald) and Jennifer Lee Mattox, all of Belmont, and Jimmie Lynne Eaton (Jim) of Dennis; two brothers, Glen Wells (Betty) of Red Bay and Larry Wells (Nell) of Golden; four grandsons, Cary Wayne Smith (Melissa), Jimmy Kyle Eaton, Christopher Lee Haberman and Bayden Skyler Six; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Alma Wells, and two brothers, Lelon Wells and Delbert Ray Wells.

FALKNER - W.D. Holliday Sr., 89, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at his home in Falkner. He was born Oct. 27, 1922, to Bob Holliday and Zula Montgomery Holliday. He was a motor grader operator in the construction business and worked for several construction companies over the years.
Graveside services only will be at 1 p.m. today at Lebanon Cemetery with Bro. Blaine Holliday officiating. Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Holliday of Falkner; three grandchildren, Blaine Holliday (Claudia) of Tupelo, Johnny Holliday (Beverly) of Falkner and Kelly Holliday of Falkner; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. L. Holliday and Troy Holliday, both of Ripley; and a special friend, Jerry Sanderson of Ripley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Jones Holliday; two daughters, Elizabeth Gail Holliday and Phyllis Arlene Holliday; one son, W.D. Holliday Jr.; his parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Waymon Eugene Bridges of Ripley; three daughters, Dixie Bumpus and Barbara Parks (John), both of Ripley, Wanda Anderson (John) of Katy, Texas; one great-grandchild, Dylan Hill of Ripley; three sisters, Francis Jenne (Hank) of Augusta, Ga., Catherine Chapman of Memphis and Becky Murphy (Frankie) of Iuka; and one brother, Gene Welch (Deanne) of Batesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Billy Joe Bumpus; and one brother, Bondy Welch.
