BOONEVILLE - Kevin Carpenter, 25, died Friday, May 25, 2012, in Booneville. He was born Dec. 30, 1986 to Larry and Charita Carpenter. He was a cook.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beckley Chapel-CME with the Rev. Charles Shack officiating. Internment is at Springhill Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Charita Carpenter; special friend, Conquella Keeton; child, Tristan Dewayne Carpenter; and sister, Nakesha Carpenter.

DUCK HILL - Tiny Victoria "Vickie" Mears died Friday, May 25, 2012. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Guntown.
She is survived by her children, Michael Mears (Coile Estes) of Atlanta, Ga., Pat Krakos (Roddy) of Ridgeland, Peggy Blackburn (Terry) of Hernando, Tony Mears (Marilyn) of Irvine, Calif., and Geno Mears (Carole) of Mechanicsvlle, Md.; her sisters, Mittie Ree Moreland of Baldwyn and Ollie Pendley (Hollis) of Lithia Springs, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nash "Buddy" Mears.
Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. today.

PHEBA - Jesse Wayne Peay, 55, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Baylor Cancer Center-Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Calvert Funeral Home of West Point.
SALTILLO - E. D. Denham, 80, died Saturday, May 26, 2012. He was born on Oct. 2 1931, in Benton County, to William Connie and Daisy Lucille Rhines Denham. After graduation from high school, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He had been employed with Road Builders and Heavy Equipment of Memphis for 27 years before starting his own business, Denham Tractor and Heavy Equipment Inc. of Saltillo, which he co-owned with his son. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, loved working with his cows, his antique tractors and spending time with his family and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell and the Rev. Frank Breaux officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Doug Denham (Micheal) of Saltillo; one granddaughter, Renee Denham ; two sisters, Janet Wages of Coffeeville and Lou Emma Crestman of Grenada; one brother, Wilburn Denham of Michigan; and niece and special caregiver, Mechelle Sheets of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Denham; his parents; one sister, Ruby Rogers; and three brothers, Russell, Dallas and Ralph Denham.
Pallbearers will be Doug Denham, Murry Alexander, Hugh Rice, Doddler Smith, David Wood and Tim Gillespie. Honorary pallbearers will be the coffee drinkers at Brenn's in Saltillo.

GOLDEN - Hazel W. Taylor, 87, died Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born March 13, 1925, to Vester and Ellen Leathers. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. In her last two years she enjoyed the companionship and love of her canine friend Gracie. She was a Baptist in belief.
Service was 4 p.m. Sunday at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Wilson officiating. Internment is at Fairview Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Lollar (Durell) of Mooreville and Debra Cleveland(Wayne) of Golden; three granddaughters, Renee Hunt of Loretta, Tenn., Sheila Summerford (Ricky) of Golden and Shannon Graham(Matt) of Golden; two stepgranddaughters, Melanie McGregor and Marsha Herndon; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband of 49 years, Cleburn Taylor; her parents; one son, Clovis Wayne Taylor; two grandchildren, Derek Clemons and Lori Gittleman; four brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers are Bill Milner, Donnie Poole, Ricky Summerford, Matt Graham, Keith Leathers and Steven Blake.

PINEDALE - Bobby Glen Sappington Jr., 39, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his residence. He was an active member of Bethal Baptist in Pinedale. He enjoyed reading books, especially the Bible, and writing poems.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Kay Sappington of Pinedale; brother, James (Angie) Sappington of Pinedale; niece, Shaylin Sappington of Pinedale; uncle, Jimmy (Paula) Sappington of Shady Grove; aunts, Joyce (Bobby) Churchill of Pinedale and Margie (Earl) Dutcher of Gulfport; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Sappington Sr.; and grandparents, Dewey and Ruth Sappington and Clarence and Linnie Rutledge.
