ALGOMA - Mildred Brazil, 89, died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. She was a member of Algoma Baptist Church and retired from Brookwood Manufacturing. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, cooking and spending time with her family.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Fair (Landis) of Algoma; one sister, Addie Corder of Algoma; two grandchildren, Lori Rape (Larry) and Corey Capwell (Jamie), all of Algoma; two great-grandchildren, Cailyn Rape and Cayson Capwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie McKnight and Mary Lou Foster McKnight; her husband, James Brazil; and her siblings, Irene Saxon, Gladys McDonald, Edwin "Dude" McKnight, Raymond McKnight, Lonnie Mae McKnight and Leonard McKnight.

NEW ALBANY - William Hilton Traylor, 82, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in New Albany to Roosevelt Traylor and Carrie Gibbs. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member of the deacon board for 25 years and a Sunday School teacher.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church in New Albany. Burial will be in Gerizum Cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his children, Sally Shaw, Marcus Traylor, Kimberly (Julius) Casey and Reggie Traylor, all of Michigan City, Jerry Traylor of Booneville, NiKari Traylor of Texas and Tangie Traylor of Tupelo; an adopted son, Steve Foster; a special friend, Annie Ruth Howell and her children; his siblings, Freddie B. and Robert Traylor, Hattie Sue Jones and Marie Shamblin; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

Glenda Brooks

HOUSTON - Glenda Parchman Brooks, 80, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012. She was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Buena Vista to Harry Lee Parchman and Ruth Parker Parchman. She graduated from Delta State College in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in music. She taught piano in Ackerman for one year, then continued teaching in Houston until 2011. She was a member of Buena Vista Methodist Church and served as a pianist faithfully for years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Buena Vista Methodist Church with Bro. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will be at Buena Vista Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her niece, Diane Earnest (Tony) of Houston; two nephews, Terry Parchman of Memphis and John Byran Parchman (Nina) of Aberdeen; and host of great-, great-great-, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O'Neal Brooks; her parents; her brother, John Harry Parchman; and her great-great-nephew, Steve Stroup.

Pallbeares will be Justin Thomas, Colby Pearson, Josh Moore, Will Allen, Jim Logan, Nathan Logan, Parker Rye and Ty Stroup.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Colbert, Sam Dendy Pulliam, Jim Nelson, Robert Garner and Dr. Ed Gore.

The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wesley Smith and Clara Mae Tucker Smith; a sister, Doris Lindley; and two brothers, Robert Smith and Paul Smith.

NEW ALBANY - Willie C. Graham, 61, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born July 23, 1950, in Tippah County to Willie Graham and Hattie Hunt. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an employee of Piper Impact for many years.

BOONEVILLE - Rufus Henry Boothe, 83, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home. He was born April 23, 1929, to Claude and Lillie Tucker Boothe. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Berclair Baptist Church in Memphis and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He lived in Dallas, Texas, before returning home to be cared for by his mother until he went to Sanctuary Hospice House.

She was a teacher at the Columbus Municipal School District and a private tutor. She founded S.E.C.R.E.T.S, a women's empowerment group. She was a terrific wife and mother.

NASHVILLE - Glenda Faye Ross Jackson-Wardlow, 64, died Thursday, May 24. 2012, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was a native of Union City, Tenn., but was raised in Tupelo. She was the daughter of Odell and Alverretta McKinney Ross-McIntosh. She was a former worker at Bryan's Food in Tupelo. She loved antiques and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE - Scottie Sue McKinney, 82, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born April 19, 1930, in Houston to Arnold Lee Pettit and Maudie Irene Bennett Pettit. She was a Pentecostal, and she was a machine operator at Prentiss Manufacturing. She enjoyed canning vegetables and working in her garden and flowers.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Krech and Bro. Glen Jones officiating. Burial will be in Martin Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by four sons, Charles McKinney (Reba), James McKinney (Iris), Larry McKinney (Rhonda) and Barron McKinney (Barbara), all of Booneville; a daughter, Rita Page of Red Bay, Ala.; two sisters, Robbie Busbin of West Point and Joyce Vance of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mackie D. McKinney; a brother, David Arnold Pettit; and a sister, Ruth Whitt.

Pallbearers are William L. McKinney, Gerald Wayne McKinney, Jeff Stricklen and Glen Riddle.

Amanda Wall

FULTON - Amanda Wall, 42, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 30, 1969, in Itawamba County to Craig Jr. Wall and Mary Alice Wall. She was a member of the New Chapel CME Church and a member of the choir. She was a 1989 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton. She was formerly employed by Pizza Hut, Court Yard Nursing Home and Burger King, all in Fulton, until her health failed. She loved to check out the Internet and Facebook, and being around family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Chapel CME Church in Fulton with the Rev. Dr. Luther Minor officiating. Burial will follow at New Chapel Cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Heather) Wall of West Point; three brothers, James Edward (Phyllis) Wall and Larry Paul Wall, both of Fulton, and Billy Michael (Beverly) Wall of Verona; one sister, Gwen (Larry) Middlebrook of Fulton; one grandchild, Willie Hodges; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three uncles and a host of aunts.
