ALGOMA - Mildred Brazil, 89, died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. She was a member of Algoma Baptist Church and retired from Brookwood Manufacturing. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, cooking and spending time with her family.

NEW ALBANY - William Hilton Traylor, 82, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in New Albany to Roosevelt Traylor and Carrie Gibbs. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member of the deacon board for 25 years and a Sunday School teacher.

HOUSTON - Glenda Parchman Brooks, 80, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012. She was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Buena Vista to Harry Lee Parchman and Ruth Parker Parchman. She graduated from Delta State College in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in music. She taught piano in Ackerman for one year, then continued teaching in Houston until 2011. She was a member of Buena Vista Methodist Church and served as a pianist faithfully for years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Buena Vista Methodist Church with Bro. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will be at Buena Vista Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her niece, Diane Earnest (Tony) of Houston; two nephews, Terry Parchman of Memphis and John Byran Parchman (Nina) of Aberdeen; and host of great-, great-great-, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O'Neal Brooks; her parents; her brother, John Harry Parchman; and her great-great-nephew, Steve Stroup.
Pallbeares will be Justin Thomas, Colby Pearson, Josh Moore, Will Allen, Jim Logan, Nathan Logan, Parker Rye and Ty Stroup.

She was born April 19, 1930, in Houston to Arnold Lee Pettit and Maudie Irene Bennett Pettit. She was a Pentecostal, and she was a machine operator at Prentiss Manufacturing. She enjoyed canning vegetables and working in her garden and flowers.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Krech and Bro. Glen Jones officiating. Burial will be in Martin Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by four sons, Charles McKinney (Reba), James McKinney (Iris), Larry McKinney (Rhonda) and Barron McKinney (Barbara), all of Booneville; a daughter, Rita Page of Red Bay, Ala.; two sisters, Robbie Busbin of West Point and Joyce Vance of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was born Dec. 30, 1969, in Itawamba County to Craig Jr. Wall and Mary Alice Wall. She was a member of the New Chapel CME Church and a member of the choir. She was a 1989 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton. She was formerly employed by Pizza Hut, Court Yard Nursing Home and Burger King, all in Fulton, until her health failed. She loved to check out the Internet and Facebook, and being around family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Chapel CME Church in Fulton with the Rev. Dr. Luther Minor officiating. Burial will follow at New Chapel Cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
