GumTree’s Sip & Shop event set for this weekend

GumTree Museum of Art’s third annual Sip & Shop, a unique shopping experience full of artistic gifts, is this weekend.

The preview party is 6-10 p.m. Friday. Hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10/advance, $15/at the door.

Symphony fundraiser offers dinner on stage on Friday

The Tupelo Symphony Orchestra fundraiser Dinner on Stage is 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Link Centre.

The evening also includes an almost complete concert version of “Oklahoma.” Jody Neal Blake, Sarah Childers, Mickey Gousset and Mark Maharrey are a few of the singers.

The menu includes trout a la meuniere; asparagus and green bean frites; roasted yellow pepper aioli; roulade of beef, blue cheese and buerre rouge; salad and pies.

State film commissioner to speak at Tupelo Film Alliance

Mississippi Film Commissioner Ward Emling is the guest speaker at this Saturday’s Tupelo Film Alliance meeting.

He’ll speak on “The State of Things: What’s Next for Film in Mississippi.”

It’s free and open to anyone interested in film.

The meeting is 10 a.m. Saturday at the Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Community theater presents ‘A Retro Christmas Production’

The 1960s are the theme for Pontotoc Community Theatre’s Christmas show.

Elvis’ Christmas tunes and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” are a few of the inspirations for “A Retro Christmas Production.”

It takes the stage at the theater on Main Street in Pontotoc at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
