The Mississippi High School Activities Association is expected to release its athletics division alignments today for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years.

Starkville, which plays for the 5A state football championship Saturday, is expected to return to 6A, according to enrollment figures released earlier this month by the State Department of Education.

North Pontotoc will either remain a small 4A school or move down to become a large 3A program. Mantachie is expected to drop from 3A to 2A.

The MHSAA re-aligns its classes every two years based on updated enrollment figures.
