Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green confirms one fatality at a shooting at Bailey Apartments in Verona Friday night.

Tupelo, Verona and Shannon police departments along with Lee County Sheriff Department and medical personnel are at an apartment complex on Raymond Avenue in Verona. The call came at about 5:46 p.m.

One person was taken from the scene in an ambulance. Law enforcement officials have not confirmed anything at the scene as of this time and are investigating the incident. Police are currently going to each apartment in the complex.

One person is reported to have left the scene of the shooting and police are searching the area. The Tupelo police helicopter also was overhead after the report. According to law enforcement, police are searching for a light-skinned black male that was about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds and last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black toboggan and black and gray gloves.
