‘Almost New Year’s Eve Party’

set for Friday in Tupelo


Music, food, drinks and games are all on the schedule for the “Almost New Year’s Eve” party.

2 Drink Minimum is hosting, and there’ll be food and drinks by Park Heights and plenty of games.

The party is 7 p.m.-until Friday at the J.J. Rogers building in Tupelo.

Tickets are $25, and all proceeds go to the GumTree Museum of Art.

Dulcimers return for more music

in 2013 at Natchez Trace


The first performance by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association is set for Jan. 5 at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitors Center in Tupelo.

The association members will show off their skills playing bluegrass, gospel and old-time music, and will show the audience how to play the instrument.

The performance is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 5.

Mississippi’s own Swampfoot will say goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013 on Monday at Proud Larry’s.

The band pays tribute to music fan favorites like ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers and Pink Floyd.

It’s an 18 and up show.
