The commission budgeted the project at $1.8 million and Murphy & Sons won the bid with $1,161,870, which includes all alternatives.
The face-lift will give the arena a new look that reflects many of the buildings around it, like the BancorpSouth Conference Center, which the arena recently took over.
A pre-construction meeting will take place in early February and a deadline will be officially set then, but it’s projected the renovation will be complete in September.
The arena’s 20th anniversary is in October.
