A Booneville man died Saturday morning in a Tippah County car crash.

Sam Edge, 20, died around 8:30 a.m. after crashing along Highway 4 near the Prentiss/Tippah county line.

According to Tippah County Coroner Chad Bateman, it appeared Edge was traveling toward Ripley when he left the road, hit a tree and spun his vehicle into a parked 18-wheeler in someone’s driveway. The force of the crash moved the 18-wheeler several feet, Bateman said.

He said the roads did not appear to have any condensation on them.

Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
