MSU women’s team visits Oxford tonight

OXFORD – The Mississippi State women’s basketball team will be going for its third-straight win when it faces struggling Ole Miss tonight at 7 at Tad Smith Coliseum.

The Bulldogs defeated Arkansas at home on Feb. 3 then had a week off before winning 61-56 at Missouri last Sunday.

The only SEC win for Ole Miss came at Florida, 88-81, on Jan. 24. There were five-straight league losses before then and four in a row afterward.

The Bulldogs won the earlier meeting, 72-57 on Jan. 27 in Starkville.

MSU has won the last six in the series and eight of the last nine.

Sophomore Martha Alwal averages a doubledouble for MSU – 12.5 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Tia Faleru comes off the bench to lead Ole Miss with 12.0 points a game.
