Tupelo boys bowling for seventh state title

Tupelo High School’s boys bowling team will compete for their seventh straight MHSAA Class II state championship at 11 a.m. today at Fannin Lanes in Flowood.

The Wave lost to Starkville in the North championship series.

Tupelo’s girls team won the North title and will bowl today for its third state crown.

In the Class I tournament, set for a 10 a.m. start at Paradise Lanes in Jackson, the defending state champion Itawamba AHS girls and East Webster bowls will compete against a field that includes nine other Northeast Mississippi teams.

In the girls hunt are East Union, East Webster, West Union and Pontotoc. In the boys event are East Union, West Union, Pontotoc,

Tupelo Christian Prep and New Albany.
