Chickasaw County woman dies, husband charged

HOUSTON, Miss. (AP) — Bond was denied a Chickasaw County man during his initial court appearance Monday on a charge of murder in the death of his wife.

Will Porter made an initial appearance in Chickasaw County Justice Court and was formally charged with murder.

Authorities say the body of 23-year-old Amanda Porter was found inside her home on Mississippi Highway 8 east of Houston. Coroner Andy Harmon says Porter was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.
