This week, registered voters living in the city of Ripley will receive a petition in the mail to bring the issue of the sale of alcohol within the Ripley city limits to a vote. The petition is an effort initiated by Ripley for a Vote, a non-profit volunteer group working to give registered voters within the city limits the opportunity to vote on the sale of alcohol in the city of Ripley.

The petition will provide voters with instructions for completion.

Following in the footsteps of New Albany, Corinth and Senatobia, the group has more than 500 signatures, approximately 60 percent of the required 800 signatures necessary to bring the issue to a vote.
