Co-Lin defeats NECC for MACJC state title

POPLARVILLE – T’Keya Moore scored 20 points to lead the Copiah-Lincoln Lady Wolves to a 64-46 victory against Northeast in the MACJC

state championship game on Thursday.

Northeast (14-11) trailed 28-20 at halftime and trimmed that deficit to 49-43 with just over five minutes remaining. Co-Lin (23-3) closed the contest with a 15-3 run to seal the victory.

The Lady Tigers shot just 26.7 percent from the field (12 of 45) and committed 23 turnovers.

LaTonya Gadison led the Northeast with 14 points.

Both teams will play in next week’s Region XXIII Tournament in Clinton.

PRCC wins men’s title: Pearl River jumped out to a 34-13 lead after the first 14 minutes and rolled to a 81-60 win against Mississippi Delta.
