seconds left to lift the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians

to a 58-57 victory over Baton Rouge in the Region XXIII

championship game on Saturday.

Itawamba (19-9), which won its first region title since 1975, advances to the NJCAA National Tournament March 18-23 in Salina, Kan.

Baton Rouge led 57-54 before Lady Indian Tia Coleman nailed a three pointer to tie the contest with less than a minute left.

Coleman, Jasmine Hampton (Bruce) and Ayanna Lynn each scored 11 points for ICC.

EMCC men win: East Mississippi (20-7) knocked off Northwest 66-62 for its fourth consecutive region championship.
