Frank Davis

BOONEVILLE - Frank Davis, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Prentiss County to John Hardin Davis and Dora Lee Lauderdale Davis. He was a farmer and an employee of Marathon Cheese. He was a member of Gaston Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and mowing his yard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Parman officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Cemetery.

He is survived by a son, Freddie Davis (Brenda) of Booneville; three daughters, Patsy Downs (Jack), Betty Jo Davis and Sherry Pannell (special friend, Nick Stoop), all of Booneville; two stepsons, Leland Barnett (Juanita) and Chester Dodson (Becky), all of Booneville; a stepdaughter, Kay Brasfield (Frankie) of Booneville; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Gray Davis, on Jan. 17, 2010; his parents; two brothers, R.B. Davis and Vernon Key; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are members of his Sunday School class.

BOONEVILLE - Essie Earline Bolton Harris, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BIRMINGHAM - Christopher Lee Crain, 34, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses faith. Everyone who knew him loved him.

Services were Sunday, Oct. 17, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Ala.

Survivors include his mother, Cindy Stringfellow; his father, Jonny Crain; his grandparents, Mary Ann Crain, and William and Betty Stringfellow; three half sisters, Crystal, Holly and Angelina; aunts and uncles, Lynn and David Stevens, Kurt and Susan Crain, Wayne and Nina Stringfellow.

Kristen Hall

BLUE SPRINGS - Kristen "Sissy" Carol Conley Hall, 29, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. She was born Dec. 30, 1980, in Cook County, Ill. She was a medical technologist for North Mississippi Medical Center and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at United Funeral Service with Rev. Chris McCord officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Adam Hall, and her son, Parker Leighton Hall, both of Blue Springs; her parents, Norma Jean and Mitchell Roberts; two sisters, Ember Dawn Shackelford (Tim) of Cleveland, Tenn., and Lee Farah Celeste Burns (Tracy) of Booneville; a brother, David Michael Greer; and a grandmother, Ivy Jeanette Bullock, all of New Albany.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jamie L. Roberts, Eesna Faye Roberts and James Alton Bullock.

Pallbearers will be David McClain, Fred Herndon, Eric Plunkett, Seth Bagwell, Beau Buse and Ben Daniel.

Memorials can be in her honor to the American Cancer Society.

Tommy Duncan

FULTON - Tommy Duncan, 50, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 13, 1960, in Hughes, Ark., to Horace C. and Alice Underwood Duncan. He worked for Sunbelt Specialties doing construction work. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Brad Haumesser and Bro. Wallace Strawn officiating. Burial will be in the Tilden Community Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Nita Duncan; one son, T.J. Duncan; one daughter, Christy Payne (James); his mother, Alice Duncan; two brothers, Charlie Duncan (Dorothy) and Horace Lee Duncan; one granddaughter, Katelynn Payne, all of Fulton; six brothers-in-law, Richard Bennett, Nolan Bennett, Pete Bennett, Donnie Bennett, Jerry Bennett and Tony Bennett; and two sisters-in-law, Francine Estes and Nancy Bean.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Bennett, Tony Bennett, Justin Guntharp, Mike Wiygul, Joey Thomas and Donnie Dulaney.

Visitation will continue from 7 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Tom Keys

PONTOTOC - James Thomas "Tom" Keys, 57, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A native of Pontotoc, he was the son of James Keys and Fannie Herron Keys. He was a member of Springville Chapel M.B. Church and a U.S. Army veteran. His passion was working on cars and he loved to fish.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Springville Chapel M.B. Church. The Rev. Jimmy Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in East County Line Cemetery in Houlka. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived bu his wife, Bertha Keys of Pontotoc; four sons, Thomas K. (Mary) Heard, stationed in Missouri, Danielle Heard of San Diego, Calif., Corey (Sonya) Lipsey of Tupelo and Joseph Lipsey of Pontotoc; one sister, Earlene (Herman) Roberson of Pontotoc; five brothers, Johnny Keys, James Andrew Keys and Clavin (Virginia) Keys, all of Pontotoc, Kenneth Keys of Athens, Texas, and Raymond (Barbara) Hampton of Chicago; and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Henry Hampton Jr. and Charles Keys; and one sister, Elsie Dobbs.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gayle Horn

COLDWATER - Janet Gayle Harrington Horn, 61, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at her home in Coldwater. She was born Feb. 28, 1949, in Houston to Chester Weldon Harrington and Frances Corinne Weaver Harrington. She was a retired employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Company and a member of Mt. Manna Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Houston with Rev. Jay Thomason and Rev. Eddie Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Houston. Houston Funeral Home in Houston is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Horn of Coldwater; her daughter, Melanie and Steve Everett of Hernando; her son, Jason and Jennifer Horn of Brandon; her grandchildren Lyndsey Horn, Emily Horn, Garrett Everett and Macey Everett; her sisters, Jo Carolyn and Russell Lancaster of Houston, and Lenda Faye and Curtis Ray of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

WEST POINT - Benton Lamar Moore, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at West Point Community Living Center. He was born in Sparta on Nov. 11, 1934, to George and Ruth Hollingsworth Moore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in West Point for the last 25 years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Sallee officiating. Burial will follow in Popular Springs Cemetery in Vardaman.

He is survived by his wife, Vidia Moore of West Point; two sons, Christopher Moore of New Hope and Larry Moore of Houston; stepson, Michael McKinney of Claxton, Ga.; daughters, Debbie Moore and Teresa Moore, both of Houston; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, James Johnson, Benji Hernandez, Larry Forrester and Wesley Coggins.

Betty W. King

CORINTH - Betty W. King, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Magnolia Regional Health Center after a brief illness. She is a former employee of Dairyland Freeze and retired from ITT Telecommunicatons with 20 years of service. She was a co-owner and operator of Corinth Flea market for 10 years and co-owner of Ray King Building Maintenance for 35 years. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel with Minister Lennis Nowell and Minister Malcom Georgeofficiating. Burial will be in the Salem Christian Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray King of Corinth; two daughters, Sherry Clark of Corinth and Denby Stutz (Jim) of Byhalia; three grandchildren, Amy Clark Burks (Tony), Amanda Clark Redding (Tracy Bullard) and Matthew McArthur; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Nash, Callie Nash, Anna Redding and Anthony Redding; and one great-great-grandson, Wesley Nash.

MANTACHIE - Frances Etoyle Comer Grissom, 92, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Nov. 17, 1917, to Arthur L. and Cera Cooley Comer. She worked as a supervisor at Itawamba Manufacturing Company and as a receptionist at the Itawamba County Welcome Center and McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mantachie and the Itawamba County Historical Society. She enjoyed yard work and flowers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Nick Ulmer officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include one brother, Leo Comer and his wife, Mary Jo, of West Memphis, Ark.; one sister, Vonnie B. Tims of Memphis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Grissom, on Aug. 31, 1987; her parents; four sisters, Charlice Nanney, Robbie Gurley, Berniece Wood and Imogene Davis; and one brother, Theo Comer.

Pallbearers will be Mike Nanney, James Tims Jr., William B. Gurley, Stacy Davis, George Gibson Jr., Richard Ellis and Jake Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Franks, Robert Moody, Randy McFerrin, Boyce McNeece and Steven McNeece.

BELDEN - Allen Pal, 25, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, due to an accident in Pontotoc County. He was born July 24, 1985, in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was employed by Fibre Craft Manufacturing in Tupelo.

He is survived by his mother, Robin Sullivan, and stepfather, Dan Sullivan, of Belden; his father, Gary Pal of Ashtabula, Ohio; one sister, Nicole Pal of Belden; his grandfather, Harry Cutlip of Kings Mountain, N.C.; his great-grandmother, Corene Nicholas of Williamsfield, Ohio; two uncles, Harry Cutlip Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, and Billy Cutlip (Amy) of Ashtabuta, Ohio; many other uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Cutlip, and grandparents, John and Oleta Pal.

Adelle Malone

BYHALIA - Adelle Bobitt Malone, 87, died at her residence on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. A native of Fayette, Ala., she had lived in Caledonia, Nettleton, Columbus and in 1989 moved to Byhalia. She married Johnnie C. Malone in 1945. He died Aug. 9, 1980. Mrs. Malone was a retired seamstress working at Wilson Manufacturing and Futorian in Okolona. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and attended Emory Independent Methodist Church. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting and cooking.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Burton and Bro. Billy McBunch officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Mike Malone of Byhalia; two grandchildren, Josh Malone and Stephanie Elkins; two great-grandchildren, Abegail Malone and Merideth Elkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Johnnie Malone.

Pallbearers will be Billy McBunch, Morris Williams, friends and family.

PONTOTOC - Richard C. Lacey, 81, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at his home. He was born Oct. 24, 1928, to John and Evelyn Lacey in Mt. Clemens, Mich. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and a Red Cross volunteer. He enjoyed woodworking, RV camping and playing golf.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Tackett officiating. Military honors will follow.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Christy Lacey of Pontotoc; two daughters, Patti (Ed) Clator and Debbie (Colby) Hannon, all of Pontotoc; one son, Jamie (Claudette) Christy of Atoka, Tenn.; two brothers, Thomas J. (Rosemary) Lacey and Rev. Jack Lacey, all of Michigan; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jackie Lacey; one son, John M. Lacey; and four brothers, Mickey Lacey, Art Lacey, Bill Lacey and Robert Lacey.
