Flanner had been employed by Monroe County School District as a teacher at Advanced Learning Center in Becker. The law and public safety course he taught at the ALC gave students an insight about the court system, law enforcement, fire and emergency services and the military.
According to Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, the alleged victim is a student in Monroe County.
Bond was set Thursday by Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Paul S. Funderburk at $30,000. Flanner is being held at Monroe County Detention Center.
