The chase took place around 8:20 p.m. after an officer attempted a traffic stop around the Highway 45 and Main Street area and the suspect fled, Tupelo Police Lt. Chuck McDougal said.
The incident ended when the suspect hit a tree near Tedford Street and was then taken into custody. No one was injured and no property damage was done during the chase, McDougal said.
There are charges pending in the case, according to McDougal. No other information was available at this time.
