Reeves campaign treasury tops $850K

JACKSON — Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves leads other Mississippi statewide elected official with campaign cash.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that Reeves had $853,571 in his campaign as of Jan. 31, according to records in the secretary of state's office.

Reeves was elected lieutenant governor in 2011 after two terms as state treasurer.

Records show Gov. Phil Bryant ended the year with $606,058 cash on hand.

Reports from other statewide officeholders show:

— Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann finished the year with $407,375 cash.

— State Treasurer Lynn Fitch had $25,169.

— Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney had $100,565.

— Attorney General Jim Hood ended the year with $67,732.

— Auditor Stacey Pickering had $63,478 cash on hand.

— Agriculture Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith had $33,464 cash on hand.
