Earlier this week USA Today reported that cocaine, marijuana and alcohol abuse were the reasons for Henderson’s parole violation last year that parole stemming from an early charge of forgery.
Prior to the game assembled Florida students were told by an administrator to watch themselves and not be drawn into anything “if a situation is to arise during the game.”
Henderson’s name was not mentioned.
“None of that affects anything. It’s just another day in the life of Marshall Henderson,” Henderson said. “I face all that stuff all the time. What’s another thing to add to the list? I don’t care. Bring it on.”
Brutus’ minutes
With his bench much thinner, Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy did not sub until the 13 minutes, 27-seconds mark of the first half. The first player off the bench was freshman forward Terry Brutus who finished with three rebounds, a bucket, a steal and a turnover in 12 minutes.
Player of the Game
Marshall Henderson tied a season-high with seven made 3-point shots and had 25 points, scoring at least 25 points in an SEC game for the fifth time.
Quotable
“I though their communication was flawless. When they shoot it the way they shoot it, that’s a very good basketball team. Erik Murphy is a ridiculous matchup.” – Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy
