CORINTH – The city of Corinth is preparing to say farewell to the city street commissioner who is retiring March 8.

Jim Bynum’s retirement from the position he has held since 1999 was announced at Tuesday’s regular city board meeting. He has been on extended leave for about three months.

A retirement reception is being planned.

Building inspector Philip Verdung will replace Bynum as street commissioner. He has handled Bynum’s duties during his leave, and recruitment begins immediately for a new building inspector.
