MSU hoops to get $500K upgrade

A Mississippi State donor is giving $500,000 to the men’s basketball team to upgrade its locker room.

Danny Cupit, an attorney who lives in Jackson, is making the donation as part of MSU’s “Today, Tomorrow, Forever” facility initiative. It will give the Bulldogs their first locker room upgrade since Humphrey Coliseum got a $1.8 million makeover in 2004.

MSU is 8-20 this season, with a 3-13 SEC mark under first-year coach Rick Ray
