They included:
• $39,700 for the Monsters, Mud and Tuff Trucks Show at the arena on Friday and Saturday. The event, the request says, draws visitors from Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, and expected attendance this year is about 5,000.
• Reimbursing the arena for a recent Indoor Motocross event, which drew about 1,500 to the arena.
• $15,500 for the Lonestar Rodeo scheduled for April 12-13.
Mayor Tommy Irwin also announced during Tuesday’s special meeting that Luke Doehner would step down as board president, which Doehner had told the mayor from the beginning would be an interim role.
Doehner said he agreed to help with the transition from the former board to the new board, but his business demands had begun to increase and he needed to step back into his board member role.
With five of the seven board members in attendance, the group agreed to hold an election for the board president’s seat when all seven members are present.
The next regular meeting of the Corinth Area CVB is 8 a.m. March 19.
