FARMINGTON – Beginning April 1, sewer customers in Farmington will see an increase in wastewater treatment and disposal rates.

The basic rate will increase from $21 to $23 for the first 2,000 gallons. Amounts above 2,000 gallons will be charged 50 cents per 1,000 gallons, said Farmington Mayor Dale Fortenberry.

The city of Corinth provides sewer treatment service to Farmington, and the Corinth Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday to increase Farmington’s rates to keep up with their higher costs, a rate which has not increased since 2001.
